No Geneva Motor Show in 2021

Early cancellation: The Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS), better known simply as the Geneva Motor Show, has been cancelled for 2021. The old-established motor show will not be taking place next year either.

That is the decision of the committee and board of the Salon International de l’Automobile foundation. A majority of exhibitors had stated in a survey that they would probably not participate in a 2021 edition and would prefer to have a GIMS in 2022. Immediately following the cancellation of GIMS in March 2020, the foundation had requested financial support from the Canton of Geneva to cover the losses caused by the cancellation, amounting to an estimated eleven million Swiss francs, and to prepare for a new edition.
