DS Smith has announced the appointment of John Melia to the role of managing director for its UK recycling division.
Mr Melia succeeds Mat Prosser, who has been appointed to the new position of head of strategic business development and transformation (Europe).
The new managing director comes from outside of the paper and recycling sector. He has more than 25 years of experience in the chemicals sector in a variety of posts involved with Tata Chemicals. He worked originally with Brunner Mond UK, a supplier of soda ash, which was acquired by Tata Chemicals Limited in 2005.
