Local 3D printer manufacturer to partner with Department of Energy lab


The North Huntingdon-based ExOne, manufacturer of 3D printing machines, has announced a partnership with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, according to a statement from the company.

Oak Ridge is the largest U.S. Department of Energy open science laboratory, and the collaboration is intended to advance the development of technology for binder systems. Oak Ridge is anticipating the production of 500 tools and dies by 2022 for molding, stamping and forging industries, and make binder jetting the leading low-cost method for fabrication of advanced tooling.
